At Kaiaua School we know that when tamariki are here regularly, they feel more connected, confident, and ready to learn. Being at kura each day helps our students build friendships, strengthen their learning, and grow their sense of belonging within our kura whānau.
Our Attendance Management Plan explains how we work alongside whānau to support positive attendance. It reflects our values and guides how we support tamariki when attendance becomes a concern.
We understand that sometimes things happen that make it difficult for tamariki to get to school. When this happens, our approach is to listen, work together with whānau, and find supportive solutions so each child feels confident returning to kura.
The plan also explains:
how attendance is monitored and supported
how we celebrate improvement and positive attendance
how we work alongside whānau and external services when additional support is needed
Through strong communication, early support, and celebrating progress, our goal is simple: every tamaiti feeling supported to be present, participating, and progressing in their learning.
If you ever have concerns about your child’s attendance, please reach out. We are here to work alongside you and your tamaiti.
